Kevin Turner, Co-owner and Creative Director

Kevin Turner, a native of Columbus, OH, has many years of experience in the "real" world of the business combined with formal training and education. He began playing music at the age of nine. He has performed and recorded professionally with many artists as a bassist and guitarist since 1977. He has been composing and producing music for a variety of artists and events since 1975. His performance and recording experience ranges from Ray Charles to working with some of the top gospel, pop and jazz artists of today. In addition, he has a strong background in production, recording and engineering. He attended performing arts high school where he studied instrumental music. He has a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies - Performance from The Ohio State University. He also holds a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He has had specific coursework in recording/engineering as well.
Since 1995, he has owned and operated a private project recording studio fully equipped for state-of-the-art recording (J2 Studio; formerly known as "JuJu's Room"). His professional experience over the last 23 years has uniquely qualified him to lead Marina Park Music into the ever-changing global music industry of the 21st century. His unique blend of talents in the high-tech arenas as well as in the pure arts have culminated in skills specific to the future musical landscape of our society.

He currently remains active in the performing arts. He enjoys playing bass in his church choir with his wife Cynthia (pianist). He also loves teaching and conducting his Elementary, Middle School, and High School Orchestras. He continues to perform with jazz artists around the country on guitar and bass. Most of all, he enjoys watching in amazement as both sons, Julien and Justen, develop musical senses and skills.

Cynthia Turner, Co-owner and Business Manager

Cynthia W. Turner, Ph.D., CPA and a native of Portsmouth, VA, holds an undergraduate degree (North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, NC), a master's degree (The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH) and a doctorate degree (The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH) in accounting. She currently serves on the faculty in the accountancy department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has sat on several boards in her community while in Champaign, IL. Her leadership in her community as well as her career achievements recently was nationally honored when she was featured in the article, "30 Young Leaders of the Future, 30 and under," in the November 1998 edition of Ebony Magazine.
She is also a musician in her own right. Cynthia began playing the piano at the age of 10. She has performed and sang with a variety of choirs and jazz ensembles over the years with one of her finer moments including singing with the jazz great, Lionel Hampton. Cynthia is also a songwriter and currently plays the piano and keyboards for her local church choir with her husband Kevin (bassist). Kevin and Cynthia are the parents of two young sons, Julien and Justen, and adult daughter (stepdaughter), Kia.
